Course Overview

The Division / Group Supervisor (DIVS) course is designed for experienced responders who are ready to take on greater responsibility within the Operations Section of an Incident Management System (IMS) structure.

This advanced-level course equips participants with the knowledge and leadership tools needed to manage multiple resources in high-pressure environments. Whether you’re assigned to a specific geographic division or a functional group, this course prepares you to coordinate complex tactical operations during wildfires, multi-agency incidents, and large-scale emergencies.

You’ll explore the operational realities of being a DIVS – from receiving assignments and briefing crews, to maintaining safety, coordinating with other supervisors, and ensuring effective demobilisation.
